Describe the symptom, not the service
You do not need to know what it is called. Tell us what it is doing and we will work it out.
Nobody rings up asking for an air system diagnostic. They ring up because the truck will not build air, or something is howling from the back end, or a light came on and the power dropped off. That is the right way to describe it, and it is usually enough for us to tell you over the phone whether you should keep driving, wait for a mobile call-out, or put it on a hook.
- The truck will not build air pressure
- Check engine light came on and the power dropped off
- Howling or whining from the drive axle that changes with speed
- Cranks but will not start once it is hot
- Losing coolant with no puddle under it
- Trailer lights dead on one side
- Grinding or dragging brake on one wheel
- RV slide-out will not retract and I cannot travel
- Vibration at highway speed that gets worse under load
- Air dryer purging constantly
- Burning smell from a wheel end
- Will not go into gear, or jumps out of gear under load
