Broken down on I-70 in Utah?

K&K is in Salina, at the western end of the long empty stretch. We run towing, recovery and mobile repair on the corridor. Call, do not fill in a form.

Signal out here comes and goes. If the call drops, keep trying, and if you get through once, give us the mile marker before anything else.

Tell us this first

It decides which truck leaves the yard.

  • Your mile marker, and which way you are pointing
  • What you are driving, and whether it is loaded
  • Whether the wheels still turn
  • Whether you are on the shoulder or off the road
  • Whether anyone is hurt, if so, call 911 first

If anyone is hurt, or a lane is blocked, call 911 first. Then call us. A recovery can wait ten minutes; a lane closure on a 75 mph interstate cannot.

While you wait

Standing on the shoulder of I-70 is the actual danger, not the breakdown.

Get as far right as the vehicle will go, hazards on, and stay belted inside unless there is fire or fuel. Trucks come through here at speed and the shoulder is narrower than it looks. Put triangles out only if you can do it without stepping into a lane.

If it is winter, stay with the vehicle. Salina Canyon and the high country east of it get weather that arrives faster than people expect, and a vehicle is shelter. Check UDOT Traffic for current road conditions, closures and restrictions before you commit to the run.
